Scuba Sue's Underwater Adventures

A Private Scuba Instructor
Class Descriptions

Discover Scuba Diving:

This adventure is for people ages 10 and up.  After a short briefing, you will enter the water and put on scuba gear.  You can do this in a swimming pool, or in the ocean if there are "pool-like" conditions.  This makes a great gift for someone who has always wanted to try Scuba Diving, yet isn't quite sure whether to spend the money on a full Beginning Open Water class or not.

Open Water:

The open water course consists of 5 classroom sessions, which can be completed in one day, or 5 different sessions; depending on how fast you want to get the classes done.  There are also 5 confined water dives which can be at the beginning of the course, following the classroom sessions, or mixed with the classroom sessions.  The classroom sessions and confined water sessions will prepare you for the 4 open water ocean dives.  I usually do all four dives from the shore to keep the price of the class less expensive.  The certification will let you be able to go to 40 feet for kids aged 10 -14, or 60 feet for all those 15 years old and up.  The certification will last a lifetime, and PADI is known around the world.

Advanced Open Water:

The advanced class consists of 5 dives.  Two of the dives are required to finish the course; the deep dive (to 100ft) and the navigation dive.  The other 3 dives are dives are chosen by you from the Advanced book.  The advanced course is for you to gain more knowledge under the supervision of an instructor, and also to make you more well-rounded as a diver.

Rescue & Jr. Rescue:

The rescue class consists of one classroom session that can be broken down into 2 parts if needed.  The revised PADI rescue course puts you in the pool for a confined water session, and the rest of the scenarios are done in the open ocean.  These can be done from a boat, or shore, or both.  The scenarios are required to be carried out over 2 days, but can be spread out over more days if needed.  This is one of my favorite classes to teach!  To finish the rescue class all you need to show is a current CPR and First Aid card.  If you don't have one, the EFR class is for you!

EFR:

The EFR class has been designed by PADI to be OSHA approved.  Not only can you use it to complete your Rescue Class; but you can also use it to meet employment requirements.  EFR is Emergency First Responder; a course revamped by PADI to include CPR, First Aid, and AED training.

I am also able to teach many different specialties including boat, deep, night, wreck, drysuit, photography, etc.
